The Queensland Law Society Council resolved to accept the resignation of Councillor Bridie Edwards on 29 August after almost three years’ service.

Councillor Edwards has been an active member, contributing on several sub-committees and representing council at many events.

She was the youngest elected member on QLS Council with her first election in 2021 and since that time has sat on many committees including the CPD, Governance, Professional Conduct, Innovation, Committee of Management and Finance and Risk committees.

Councillor Edwards’ resignation creates a vacancy on Council. On 16 September, a formal notice will be sent to full members, in accordance with the Legal Profession (Society) Rules 2007, setting out the next steps to fill the vacancy.
