Carter Newell’s insurance team continues to grow with its latest promotions in the Brisbane office – Emily Holzberger to Senior Associate (professional liability), Alexandra McGrath to Associate (general liability) and Rebecca Woodrow to Associate (general liability).
Emily Holzberger
Emily practises regularly on the defence of a broad range of claims with particular focus on the property sector. She also has a focus on defending allied health claims and she works closely with insureds, brokers, insurers and cover holders.
Emily also has considerable experience in defending insureds in disciplinary tribunals, official investigations and regulatory proceedings. She has held several roles in her nine-year tenure at Carter Newell. She has also been on secondment on multiple occasions to one of Australia’s largest insurers.
Alexandra McGrath
Alexandra has practised in insurance and personal injury law since being admitted as a solicitor in 2022.
She acts on behalf of a variety of entities, including insurers, brokers, property owners, principal contractors, host employers and body corporates.
Recognised for her practical approach and excellent client care, Alexandra has experience with both defending personal injury claims and advising on indemnity matters.
Rebecca Woodrow
Rebecca’s practice involves investigating, managing and defending claims made under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (Qld).
Working predominantly with insurers, self-insureds and brokers, she has experience with claims up to and including compulsory conference, mediation and trial.
Rebecca has instructed on and successfully defended a five-day personal injury claim at trial, as well as having assisted with a Coronial Inquest. She also has experience on multi-party claims specifically in relation to construction sites and shopping centres, as well as analysis of insurance/indemnity components in contractual claims.
Rebecca also has experience in having managed claims in the aviation sector.
