Career Moves: Macpherson Kelley

Macpherson Kelley has announced the appointment of two senior positions in Brisbane, strengthening its national team across multiple practice areas.

Taking on the role of Principal Lawyer in the Brisbane property team, Brad Marland is an experienced practitioner in commercial, industrial and retail property law.

His practice encompasses real estate funds, leasing, solar farm agreements and retirement village developments. Brad is also passionate about assisting First Nations businesses and students to succeed and thrive, being closely involved in initiatives like Independent Indigenous Tourism Operators of Queensland, Birrunga Gallery and Yalari.

Also, joining the Brisbane office as Special Counsel in the litigation team, James Lovel brings more than 12 years of post-qualified experience. He has advised and acted for diverse clients, from consumers and small businesses to large franchises, property developers and public companies.

Known for his leadership in high-stakes cases, James has a strong track record in commercial litigation, including franchise disputes, taxation disputes and property-related litigation.
