Electronic lodgement for grants of probates live

Practitioners across Queensland can now access the new electronic system for wills and estates which went live on 25 November at all Supreme Court locations in Brisbane, Cairns, Rockhampton and Townsville.

When logging into the Queensland Courts and Tribunals Online Services Portal, practitioners will be asked to validate their identity via a digital identity platform and then nominate their preferred email address and contact details within the portal.

Key features:

  • Digital workflow: Lodgement and document tracking can now be managed entirely via the Queensland Courts and Tribunals Online Services Portal.
  • Accessibility : Building upon the existing application Objective Connect that was available in Brisbane registries, practitioners across the state will have the same access.
  • Simplified process: While original wills still require submission in person or by post, all other steps can now be completed electronically.

To support the profession through the transition, a series of webinars have been hosted over the past four weeks and a recording for each webinar is available in the links below. Recordings will be unavailable after 13 December 2024.

  • Webinar 1 – Overview of the new system – recording is available.
  • Webinar 2 – A demonstration of electronic lodgement – recording is available.
