GC firm returns to independent roots

Gold Coast firm RedeMont is heading in a new direction with a rebranding.

A Gold Coast firm which has operated for more than 40 years has rebranded to return to its independent roots.

On Monday, MinterEllison Gold Coast became RedeMont after 26 years. Founded as Witheriff Nyst, the firm partnered with MinterEllison in the 1990s to grow its footprint in the marketplace.

“We live in a vastly different world now where you no longer need to be in the same room as a client to service them, so these changes allow us to better align with this new era while reaffirming our commitment to excellence and innovation,” RedeMont Managing Partner Ken Petty said.

“The Gold Coast is becoming a global city, and we are ready to make the most of that, unleashing new opportunities for our 80-strong staff members, working differently, and delivering the astute legal advantage and client results that we are known for.”

He said the RedeMont brand name was developed to represent the firm’s decades of experience, insights, and expertise: “Rede” is a commonly used legal term meaning “what’s the read on an issue or subject” and “Mont” is the peak of a mountain.

The firm revamp includes a new website and redesigned office space.
