The Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington was sworn in as Queensland Attorney- General today.

Queensland Law Society has warmly welcomed the appointment of the Honourable Deborah “Deb Frecklington MP as Attorney-General, Minister for Justice, and Minister for Integrity.

Queensland Law Society President Rebecca Fogerty said Mrs Frecklington was both an experienced minister and an experienced solicitor.

“The role of the state’s first legal officer is a critical role in the Queensland Government and legal profession. Minister Frecklington is an excellent choice as Queensland’s next Attorney-General, Minister for Justice, and Minister for Integrity,” Rebecca said.

“Queensland Law Society is proud to see a dedicated and capable solicitor in the role of Attorney-General for Queensland, along with her other roles focusing on justice for Queenslanders and integrity.

“We look forward to working with the Minister on the many positive commitments on policy and consultations, in the Government’s response to the QLS Election Call to Parties statement; and building a productive relationship.”
