Maurice Blackburn has promoted 49 lawyers across the firm this month, including 15 in Queensland.
The nationwide promotions also include seven Special Counsels, nine Senior Associates and 28 Associates.

Queensland lawyers promoted to Associate are Grace Fredericks (asbestos – Brisbane), Jessica Heron (employment and industrial – Brisbane), Jayana Kerr (personal injuries – Maroochydore), Leanne Kerr (personal injuries – Southport), Sophie McKenzie (personal injuries – Brisbane), Lemuel Pamiloza (personal injuries – Gold Coast), Alison Ryan (personal injuries – Brisbane), Anna Sullivan (medical negligence – Brisbane), Aleesha Tanner (personal injuries – Townsville), Vicki Warren (personal injuries – Browns Plains) and Alan Watkins (personal injuries – Cairns).
Overall, women account for 39 (or nearly 80 per cent) of the promotions, including three of the five new Principals and five of the seven new Special Counsels.
The promotions represent many of the firm’s practice areas including road and work injuries, public liability, superannuation and insurance, medical negligence, class actions, dust diseases, abuse and employment and industrial.
Chief Executive Officer Jacob Varghese congratulated all the lawyers recognised in the promotions.
