Career Moves: Travis Schultz & Partners

Compensation law firm Travis Schultz & Partners is thrilled to welcome three lawyers to the firm, growing the team to 16.

The Queensland-based firm welcomes lawyer Andrew Evans to their one-year-old regional practice in Cairns, and Senior Associate, Candice Heisler and Associate, Karla Macpherson to the Brisbane office.

Candice Heisler

Being part of a family of nurses, Candice completed work experience in the Mater Hospital during her studies. This developed into an interest in health law that developed into an interest in personal injury law. With 12 years as a compensation lawyer, Candice leads claims and trials in vehicle accidents, workers compensation, public liability and medical negligence. She has experience in the management of catastrophic injury and complex legal claims.

Kara MacPherson

Karla is also in the Brisbane compensation team. Having started as a law clerk in personal injury five years ago, Karla was committed to working in the industry during her studies and was admitted in 2020.

Having spent over seven years as a soldier in the Australian army, Andrew’s later start in law has allowed him to share a unique mix of skills and life experience.  Andrew has three years’ experience in legal research and documentation, demonstrated in roles at the Cape York Land Council and Public Prosecutions Office in Cairns. He has also been the President of Inter Alia Law Association in 2020 and on the FNQLA committee.

Together, the three recruits add 20 years of experience to the firm’s personal injury law expertise.

We are keen to help firms and their teams celebrate promotions and new appointments. Please email details of any lawyer promotions or appointments to proctor@qls.com.au. Ensure you include some details of their areas of expertise and achievements, along with a quality head-and-shoulders image.
