Panel confirms there is life after uni

The QUT Law Society hosted the second Life After Uni event at Law Society House last month.

Making the transition from student to solicitor is a challenging one, so the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Law Society is helping with Life After Uni.

The QUT Law Society hosted the event for the second time at Law Society House on 23 April.

Queensland Law Society is the major sponsor and this year College of Law, Leo Cussen Centre for Law and QUT PLT were co-sponsors.

Thirty students attended the event where the panel shared their experiences and tips for transitioning from student to solicitor after graduation; discussing topics such as PLT, the admission process, and settling into the profession.

The panel was hosted by Helen Driscoll, Vice-President of the QLS Future Leaders Committee and Associate at Rose Litigation Lawyers.

On the panel were: Georgia Athanasellis, Member of the QLS Future Leaders Committee, host of QLS Podcast, The Callover, and In-house Lawyer at UQ; Ellie Prior, Member of the QLS Future Leaders Committee and QLS Access to Justice Committee, and Lawyer at Legal Aid Queensland; Kali Astill, Assistant Director, PLT from the College of Law; Morgan Beames, Associate at Hopgood Ganim; and Tracy Reeves, Head of Education Delivery for the Leo Cussen Centre for Law.
